At Audley End Estate in Saffron Walden, people are at the heart of everything we do across our working rural estate. From Audley End Estate Farm and its sustainable farming practices to woodland management and residential lettings, it takes a dedicated team to care for this diverse Estate North West Essex.

One of those key team members is Daniel Scraggs, our Residential Property Manager and Foreman of the Maintenance Department, is a key part of that team. Responsible for the upkeep of residential properties across the estate, Dan oversees everything from refurbishments and ongoing maintenance to responding to day-to-day repairs. His work ensures that estate homes remain both functional and in keeping with their surroundings, contributing to the overall quality and character of the estate.

With a practical, solutions-focused approach, Dan brings experience and attention to detail to every project. Whether carrying out improvements to existing properties or preparing homes for new tenants, he is committed to maintaining the estate’s assets to a high standard. As Dan explains, “I love the renovation aspect of my job – transforming an estate property into something more attractive and usable that can truly be called home.”

Outside of his work on the estate, Dan is actively involved in the local community. He coaches junior football at Saffron Walden Community FC and has just completed a half marathon in support of a local charity.

We are proud of the people who contribute to the day-to-day running of Audley End Estate, helping to care for every aspect of this working estate, from farmland and woodland to residential buildings.
